For online registration payments, we use Stripe Connect. You set up your account once and funds flow straight to your bank. Fees can be passed to the payer (default) or absorbed by your club — your choice per organization.

Things people ask us.

Why per-team pricing for Organizations and not per-user?+
Players, parents, and coaches are unlimited and never billed — by design. Our infrastructure costs scale with data and engagement, not headcount. Charging per-user would penalize associations with healthy participation. Per-team pricing lines up with how leagues actually budget.
What counts as a 'team' for the Organization tier?+
One team = one roster system. You can have up to three age groups under that single roster (e.g. U13 / U13 Tier 1 / U13 Tier 2 sharing players). Multiple age groups within one team do NOT count as separate teams.
Why a $59 monthly floor?+
It only binds in the 2-3 team range where the raw math would be $36-$54. Below that the per-team rate produces an amount our support team can't afford to honour for the included hours. From 4 teams up, the floor never applies.
What happens if I add a team mid-month?+
We re-evaluate your team count at the start of each billing cycle. Teams added mid-cycle prorate to your next invoice — you're not charged immediately for the new team. If a new team pushes you into a different bracket, the lower per-team rate kicks in at the next billing cycle.
Can I cancel inside the 3-month minimum?+
Yes — but the subscription stays active and billable through the minimum term. We don't lock your data; you can still export everything. After the 3-month minimum, cancel anytime and you keep access through the end of your current paid period.
How does the 0.5% platform fee on registrations work?+
When a parent pays a registration fee, Stripe takes its standard 2.9% + $0.30, and we collect an additional 0.5% as a Stripe Connect application fee. By default the total 3.4% + $0.30 is added on top of the registration amount (paid by the payer). You can flip this in settings so your org absorbs the fees instead.
What's the difference between Managed Service and Setup Packages?+
Setup Packages are one-time engagements to get you up and running (branding, site build, data import). Managed Service is an ongoing monthly retainer — we handle roster changes, schedule updates, registration tweaks, anything operational. Both are sold via sales, not self-serve checkout.
Can I bring my own apparel / branding designer?+
Absolutely. Setup Packages include jersey and brand design as services we provide — but if you already have a designer or supplier, the Website + HockeyOS or Onboarding package is what you want. We'll integrate whatever you bring us.
Is my data safe? Where is it stored?+
Data lives in Supabase (Postgres) hosted in North America with daily backups and point-in-time recovery. Authentication is handled by Clerk, payments by Stripe Connect — same infrastructure as thousands of regulated SaaS companies. We never sell or share customer data.
Do you offer discounts for non-profit associations?+
We don't have a formal non-profit program yet, but reach out to sales@hockeyos.ca — most amateur hockey associations qualify for something. We'd rather you use the platform at a discount than not at all.
